De historie Het was in de zomer van 1920 dat een aantal Gorredijkster jongelingen zich gingen vermaken met het trappen tegen een bal, zeer tot ongenoegen van de landeigenaar, wiens land zij daarvoor vrijelijk hadden uitgezocht. Ook de vele ouderen schudden meestal met hun hoofd als zij de jongeren bezig zagen met dit wildemanswerk. Toch zou dat wildemanswerk het startsein zijn voor de oprichting van de voetbalvereniging “G.V.C.” Dit gebeurde allemaal in augustus 1920.
