Copyright and Takedown Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
DutchNic.com respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same from its users. This policy explains how to report alleged copyright infringement and how we handle it, in line with the Dutch Copyright Act (Auteurswet) and the notice-and-action procedure under Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
1. Applicable framework
The Netherlands has no "DMCA" (that is US legislation). Reports of copyright infringement on DutchNic.com are handled under the Dutch Copyright Act and, where applicable, the notice-and-action obligations of the Digital Services Act.
2. Reporting an infringement
Do you believe content on DutchNic.com infringes your copyright? Send a report via our contact page including at least:
- a clear description of the work to which you claim copyright;
- the exact URL(s) on DutchNic.com where the allegedly infringing content is located;
- your name, address, email address, and phone number;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your report is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf;
- your signature (physical or digital).
3. What happens after a report
We carefully review every report. If the report is complete and well-founded, we remove the content in question or block access to it within a reasonable period, and we inform the user who posted the content.
4. Counter-notice
Do you disagree with a takedown because you believe the content was wrongly removed or identified as infringing? You can submit a counter-notice via our contact page, including:
- identification of the removed content and its previous location;
- a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was wrongly removed;
- your name, address, phone number, and email address;
- your consent to submit any resulting disputes to the competent Dutch court, if necessary.
5. Abuse of the reporting procedure
Submitting a knowingly false or bad-faith report or counter-notice may result in liability. DutchNic.com reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts that repeatedly abuse this procedure.
6. Repeat infringement
DutchNic.com may suspend or terminate the listing or account of users who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of third parties.
7. Contact details for reports
Reports and counter-notices can be submitted via our contact page.
