De Amsterdamse Cello Biënnale is een tweejaarlijks internationaal cellofestival, dat gedurende negen dagen de ultieme ontmoetingsplaats en een bron van inspiratie is voor cellisten en andere muziekliefhebbers uit de hele wereld. Tijdens de voorgaande edities van de Biënnale lieten vele Nederlandse en internationale cellomeesters een zeldzame variëteit aan stijlen en vaardigheden zien en horen. De Biënnale biedt een aangename mix van passieve en actieve deelname voor liefhebbers van muziek in alle vormen en stijlen met de cello als rode draad. De enorme publieke belangstelling in de voorgaande edities bewijst het succes van deze mix. Een belangrijk en inspirerend onderdeel van de Biënnale is het Nationaal Celloconcours. De jury wordt gevormd door internationale stercellisten, die ook tijdens de Biënnale optreden en masterclasses geven. De aandacht van de schrijvende pers, radio en tv was steeds overweldigend. De Amsterdamse Cello Biënnale vindt plaats in het Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam. Naast de vele concerten, masterclasses en workshops die plaatsvinden in de zalen, is de hal met cello- en stokkenbouwers, uitgevers en informatiestands, een ontmoetingsplaats met een geweldige festivalsfeer.
